Avery has a new "rett" symptom. She has started holding her breath. Mom and I noticed it the other night for the first time. I kind of dismissed it. She is definitely doing it. This morning I could hear her sitting on the couch doing it over and over again.
I am so ready for us to go to Birmingham to get some answers!

Armbrace!
We got the armbrace on Monday. Although it is too big it still serves its purpose! Avery is so much more calm with it on. I think it is going to be great for therapy. Yesterday was PT with Ms. Cindy!

Early Intervention Spring Party!
This morning we went to the park for a party! It was a little chilly but we had a good time. We hunted eggs, decorated cookies, and played on the slides and swings.
Ms. Cindy, my physical therapist, helped me decorate a cookie. I picked up a spoon all by myself!!

Armbrace
Well I took my first step into 'Rett Land". I ordered Avery her first armbrace. I know it is really going to help her but I have a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. Up until now, it was all talk. Now it is a reality. She is chewing her hand raw. When I hold her "bad" hand she stops mouthing her hands completely. This is going to be a good thing for her. Now she will be able to concentrate during therapy.
Click here for more info on the armbrace. They are lovingly made by a grandmother of a Rett angel.
Stay tuned for a picture of princess Avery with her new accessory!

Heavy heart...
I know there may come a day when my baby can't do the things that she loves anymore. I feel like a huge clock it ticking and I need to video her 24-hours a day. I am scared that I may not remember what she was like now before she was robbed in the night by an evil villan. Will I remember her wandering the house blowing raspberries? Will I remember her high pitched squeal when her brother plays with her? Will she still be able to rub her daddy's face when his beard starts to grow out? I know this is all very premature. I know that I need to focus on the now. My rational side understands that. My heart hasn't quite figured that out yet.

testing, testing, and more testing!!!
So my brother has this thing where he throws up all the time. He has had so many tests done. We finally know what to call it!! He has CVS-Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome. It is also sometimes called Abdominal Migraines. My poor brother struggles as it is with his autism. Just 1 more thing to add to the list of things my mom has to deal with. Luck for her I am such a sweet baby!

Our maiden post!
I read several blogs daily. A normal day for me starts with a cup of coffee and the computer. I really enjoy seeing how everyone is doing on a daily basis and figured "hmm, maybe people would want to read my blog daily", so here I sit.
Things in our life change so frequently that it is hard to keep up with who I told what! Hopefully this will be the first of many posts!
